Meet the Coppedges

We are Billy and Joanna Coppedge and we live in northern Uganda; in a small town called Arua. Jesus has blessed us with four daughters: Elsie Jayne (4), Lucy Mae (2), Sophia Anne (3 months), and Chloe Catherine (3 months). While we are just recently returning to Arua after a few months in the U.S. for Joanna to deliver the twins, we originally moved to Uganda in 2006. Currently we have the joy of serving in Arua with another WGM family, Scott and Meg Rambo.

We believe the primary way that God  brings transformation to the human heart is through His Word. Thus, our passion is to introduce people to the Word of God: both the Person of Jesus and the Scriptures. Consequently, we love our job as we believe the only way people can truly know Jesus is to meet Him.
We have found the most common way for people to meet Jesus, the true personality of Jesus, is to encounter His life as through Scipture and as lived out in people. So formally, our ministry is to train church leaders that they might be more equipped to offer the life of Jesus to their churches and communities. We get to do this from out of Arua in nothern western Uganda, South Sudan and hopefully soon, eastern Congo. Informally, though, it is our desire that Jesus live His life in our family so that daily people might see Jesus and want His life in their own.
We welcome you to join us on our journey of walking with Jesus. To follow more closely, please check out our blog:

  1. Billy and Joanna it is so exciting to see the Coppedge family grow (and so beautifully)! May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly in every way, may you trust in His guiding hand, His deep deep love for you and may the Holy Spirit pour His peace, love and joy into your hearts. God reigns forever! Amen.
Please keep my 'mission team' and myself in your prayers. I am part of an organization that speaks to young men and women on their inherent dignity and goodness which leads us to speak on the beauty of chastity. Please pray for openness to receive the love of our Lord daily and for the teens to receive it!

    God bless you,
Martha Jordan (from Delanco Camp many years ago... Joanna I gave you the colorful straw hat :) )

    1. We will definitely be praying for you in this important work! Thanks, Martha!

We would love to know you are praying! Jot a quick prayer for us. Or leave a request of your own. We are so glad we can partner together for the kingdom!
