from Scott Rambo

If you've been following the events of #WGMTeamCongo over the past week, head over to the Rambo's blog and read the whole story.  You will be challenged, encouraged and hopefully led to join God in what He is doing in Congo.  We need you to fight alongside us!

This is a war. This is a war that we are part of. Always in war there are casualties and often there is collateral damage, unintended consequences of the fight. We experienced some of this collateral damage last Friday (12/14). God had opened a door for us to go to Congo to participate in celebrations for a university graduation, pastoral ordinations, and new believers being baptized. The enemy, however, was willing to do whatever it took to keep us from getting there, including putting a small boy in the path of our vehicle....

Head over to "On the Road with the Rambo's" for the rest of the story...

Welcoming the Williams!

Debby and Justin on a boat in Lake Victoria, Uganda
We love when God calls new missionaries to join Him in what He is doing here in Uganda!  This summer Justin and Debby Williams led a team to Uganda, and they have followed Him as He has led them to return as Missionary Disciples with World Gospel Mission!

They were recently approved as Missionary Disciples to Uganda, and will begin fundraising to join the team.  If you would like to partner with them financially- CLICK HERE!  Pray for them as they begin this crazy wonderful adventure of full-time missions!

Stay tuned for more about their family and future ministry as we get to know them better!

A Prayer for Those Going and Staying

Today Scott and Meg Rambo (and baby Josiah), CT and Jon Mayo travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Aunt Kelly and Uncle Josh Hallahan will watch Tim and Ben Rambo as they stay behind.  Asking prayer for each family represented and the ministry that will take place on the road and on the home-front.

As I spent time in the word this morning, God gave me a prayer for this Survey Weekend.  Join me in praying Psalm 27 over each one who is going, and each one who is staying!

Lord be their light and their salvation;
There is none to fear.
The Lord be the strength of their life;
We are not afraid.

When the wicked come against them
To eat up their flesh,
May their enemies and foes,
stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against them,
May their hearts not fear;
Though war may rise against them,
In this may they be confident.

May they desire one thing of the Lord,
That may they seek:
May they dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of their life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,

And to inquire in Your temple.
In the time of trouble
Will you hide them in Your pavilion?
In the secret place of Your tabernacle
Will You hide them?
Set them high upon a rock.

Lift up their heads above the enemies all around;
Therefore we will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
We will sing, yes, we will sing praises to the Lord.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.

When Tim and Ben's father and mother leave,
Take care of them as You have promised.

Teach us Your way, O Lord,
And lead us in a smooth path, because of our enemies.

Do not deliver them to the will of their adversaries;
For false witnesses may rise against them,
And such as breathe out violence.

May they not lose heart,
help them believe
That they will see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

We wait on the Lord;
We take courage,
And You will strengthen our hearts;
We Wait on You and we trust You!

Merry Missional Christmas!

I was scrolling through the archives, and discovered a glaringly absent topic: Christmas Links!  How could we have missed it last year?  I have no idea.  So here ya go- your first installment of Christmas links- posting each Saturday of December (except last Saturday, because I had no clue last week).

Praying this Advent is a time to prepare your heart for His coming!  And these links should help!

Advent Week One

"What I search for in My children is an awakened soul that thrills to the joy of My presence..." -Sarah Young, Jesus Calling

My soul is anything but awake.  Sleeping?  Distracted?  Busy?  Divided?  Bored?  Distant?

What is it that keeps my soul from thrilling at the joy of His presence????

I'm writing over here today: Keep reading at the Hallahan's blog.
