Meet the Hopson Family

We are Kenneth and Delight Hopson, missionaries to Uganda since 2004.  We were in Tanzania from 1997 to 2003 involved in a print shop and children and youth ministries.  In 2003 we felt a very clear ministry change taking place and Jesus paved the way for us to go to Uganda.  We arrived there in 2004 with Kenneth fulfilling needs to the best of his ability for the field literature, even with very limited equipment.  In 2009 Kenneth received the gift of donated printing equipment and eventually “The Print Shop” was up and running.  The print shop now has grown and grown and plans are being made to expansion.

Delight has enjoyed her ministry as Head Librarian at Heritage International School.  What a blessing it has been to help children to develop a love for reading.  She has been involved in Women’s ministry with our Ugandan pastor’s wives and enjoys building relationships, as well.

We have three children, all teenagers now. Kaleb, our oldest, is 18 years old and is now attending Lake Land College in Illinois.  He is pursuing a BA of Science to teach Physical Education.  He would love to return to Uganda to teach at Heritage International School.  Some of the students already call him Coach K!  Our second oldest, Austin is 16 years old and is a junior in High School.  He worked very hard and landed a position on the Varsity soccer team in Illinois.  This was a hard task since he is new to the school and had not come up the ranks of the team.  Emilee, our youngest, is 14 years old and is a freshman at the high school in Illinois.  She plans to participate in track at her school in Illinois.  Please pray for all of our children as they step into new territory during our time in the U.S.A.  whether it is college or high school newness, they are all facing challenges.  Pray for them as they miss their Uganda home, Uganda friends and their Uganda life.  Pray they will be a light for Jesus wherever they go.
